When it comes to your wedding day, keep in mind that it’s YOUR wedding day. Not someone else’s. Not your friend’s. Not your enemy’s. Not some stranger’s wedding that you saw on the internet or in some magazine. This is YOUR wedding. So feel free to say “Yes” to the things that you want and “No” to the things that you don’t want. Let your wedding day reflect who you are and your taste and your style. I’ve had a few, thankfully not many, but a few wedding couples who agreed to various things on their wedding day that they didn’t particularly like.
If you don’t like the bouquet toss or the garter belt thing, then don’t have it. If you don’t want to hear the “Electric Slide” at your wedding, then tell your DJ. If you don’t want a huge dessert buffet at the end, then don’t have one. If you don’t want a photo of your groom dipping you back on the middle of the dance floor (my particular un-favorite), then don’t do it.
Know yourself. Be yourself!
PS: and isn’t this cake beautiful! I don’t know what it’s called but it looks like a beautiful marble finish to me. So unique and the shape is darling–very New York “It-Girl”. And it was delicious too 🙂
