Growing up in Columbia, MD meant lots of school field trips to Washington, DC, especially to the Smithsonian. The Smithsonian is a massive collection housed in 19 different museums. One of my all-time favorite museums is the Air and Space Museum. And they have this totally awesome film called “To Fly”. You simply must check it out on your next visit to our nation’s capital.
As a child I was fascinated with outer space, space travel, astronauts, and the solar system. I also loved to fly, in airplanes. I continued my love for flying and for travel into my adult years. But strangely enough, one day I became afraid to fly. I still had places I wanted or needed to go, but there was so much anxiety every time. A few years ago, before another trip to CA, I’d had enough! One simple prayer later, and I was free. No longer afraid to fly! No longer tormented at 30k+ feet in the air. So now, as before, I love to fly! These are a few shots from a recent trip to Atlanta. Enjoy the view! It was much more beautiful from where I was sitting but hopefully you can catch a glimpse of how beautiful it is from way up there. The first shot is of our beloved isle of Manhattan right after take off.
I’ve noticed these days that people complain a lot about the airlines, the lines at the airport, which security device is used, etc, etc. But, honestly, I have nothing to complain about. I love to travel. And I love to fly.
I love these shots! They remind me that I’ve been set free! Hallelujah!
