Wedding Photography should be:
A – Creating art out of photographs
B – Creating artistic photographs
I vote for B! I like my photographs to look authentic–the capture as well as the final “look”. The more natural, the more organic, the more true to the original moment the better. I don’t want any of my clients’ wedding photographs to look “dated” or tricked-out or “photoshopped” with special overlays, actions, tints, etc. And portraits for me are a combination of natural moments in the best light I can find. I don’t need a special background–I just seek out the best light. So when it comes to the artistry part, I seek to capture an artistic photograph rather than taking a photograph and using software to do something cool or artistic with it later. Doing everything “in camera” just works better for me.
