This was the beautiful wedding of Ellyse and Patrick in Islip Long Island. It was held at a restaurant called Tellers which used to be a bank. It was gorgeous on multiple levels. Starting with Ellyse’s dress! Cream tulle overlay with a blush satin layer showing through–how genius! And all the flowers were just so RIGHT! They almost look edible ^_^ And the cupcakes LOOKED like flowers which will forever fascinate me. And of course, Ellyse and Patrick are just too, too cute! If Patrick looks familiar, you may remember the portraits from a few years ago which graced his CD, called “Joy”. You can check it out for yourself! Shop with a purpose and you’ll help feed hungry children via ChildCry or download it on iTunes!

I love keeping a “walk around camera” with me. I’ve repurposed the phrase from my dad who always advises having “walk around money” — a certain amount of cash you keep on you even if you don’t plan on buying anything. So I keep a very small, efficient and fun little camera in my purse called a Lomo ^_^ It’s a very basic 35 mm little camera that has its own little quirks and unique qualities. Like vignetting, high-contrast, and guess-timating the focus. So it’s just perfect for grabbing that unexpected but serendipitous little moment as I go along my way. And if you’re not already familiar with the Lomo, it’s motto is “Don’t think, just shoot!”

These two plus their lovely children serve as missionaries in Zambia. They work with another family that runs an orphanage for street children. More from this awesome portrait session soon!

To Have And To Hold

There’s such a weight, a searching and yet a revealing quality about wedding vows. The vows somehow embody all the highest qualities you hope to possess….. which you give to this other person who you hope will give their best to you. I pray for my couples. I pray for them because I know it’s an impossible task that is made possible, functional, wonderful….. and even all that we hope it could be, through God. If you’re planning to get married, I wish you God speed and all the very best!

Sweet Preparation Time

NY Professional Wedding Photographer
The preparation time is so sweet! Hanging out with your closest family and friends just hours… just moments before your life is changed forever. What a beautiful way to make this sweet transition memorable! I love being there for this special time on the wedding day. This is Barbara and her posse getting ready just before she says “I do” to Chris:-)
